She completed schooling from Lake Town Govt. Sponsord Girls High School & Bidhan Nagar Govt High School. Music is not her skin-deep, rather flows in her veins. Her first Music teacher is her Mother Sampa Bhattacharya (Radio/TV B-high Artiste).
Nilakshii is learning Hindustani classical music from Pt. ASIT MUKHOPADDHYA (Patiyala Gharana).
She completed her Graduation on MUSIC & stood 1st class 1st.
Now doing her Masters.

REALITY SHOWS :
Nilakshi was one of the finalists of "UNISH KURI MODHUR KONTHO" organised by ABP Group.
she participated in "INDIAN IDOL 3" & competed upto Piano Round.
She was the 1st Runner Up of the Reality Show SITARON KO CHOONA HAI on REAL CHANNEL.
