In May of 2023, Bishop Owens announced his transition to Founding Pastor and Overseer of GMCHC along with Dr. Susie C. Owens. With much prayer and after seeking the Lord, Bishop Owens selected Pastor Rodney L.

Carter, Jr. as Lead Pastor to continue the vision and mission of GMCHC.

Bishop Owens and Dr. Susie Carol Thomas have been married since 1972. They  and contribute much of their success to their love and dedication to each other, God, and an unwavering yes to His word.

They have raised 16 foster sons and daughters who have shared in their home, and they are the natural parents of Alfred Thomas Owens and Kristel Moneek Woodhouse. They also have seven grandsons: Nathan, Darian, Nicholas, William, Kaiden, Kiyson and Karter and one granddaughter, Keiress.
